Christmas Break, Reflection, and What’s Ahead for RepaintPro in the New Year

As the year comes to a close, we always like to slow things down slightly and take a moment to reflect. Not just on the volume of work completed, but on how the year unfolded, what we learned on site, and how that shapes the way we approach projects moving forward.
This post is not about selling anything. It’s about transparency, process, and letting people understand how our work actually fits into real homes, real schedules, and real life.
We’ll also confirm our Christmas and New Year break period, explain why that downtime matters in a trade like ours, and share what types of projects we’ll be focusing on once we return in the new year.

Our Christmas and New Year Break Dates
RepaintPro will be taking a scheduled break from 16 December through to 18 January.
This applies to:
on-site spraying work
physical project starts
active repainting
During this period, we step away from tools, ladders, spray equipment, and active job sites.
However, this doesn’t mean everything stops entirely.
We still:
review enquiries
organise upcoming job schedules
assess photos sent through
plan logistics for larger projects
refine processes and systems
prepare for the year ahead
This break is intentional and important. Aluminium window repainting is highly technical, physically demanding work. Taking time away allows us to return focused, consistent, and ready to deliver the level of finish people expect.

Why We Take a Proper Break Each Year
There’s a misconception in the trades that pushing non-stop somehow leads to better results. In reality, the opposite is true.
Our work requires:
precision
attention to detail
clean preparation
controlled spraying
safe access
consistent judgement
Fatigue shows up quickly in this type of work. It shows up in:
rushed masking
uneven sanding
poor spray angles
mistakes around rubbers and glass
overspray risks
inconsistent finishes
A structured break allows us to reset physically and mentally. It ensures that when we return, every job gets the same care and attention as the first one of the year, not the last.

Reflecting on the Year Just Gone
This year has been one of the busiest and most varied we’ve had.
Across the Gold Coast, we’ve worked on:
single-storey homes
two-storey homes
split-level homes
hillside properties
canal-front homes
acreage properties
modern renovations
older homes with original aluminium
We’ve repainted:
aluminium window frames
sliding doors
French and colonial-style windows
diamond grill security screens
flyscreens
handrails
fencing
gates
selected commercial shopfronts
What stands out most isn’t the number of jobs — it’s the consistency of the same issue appearing again and again.
Homes get renovated.
Walls get painted.
Roofs get updated.
Landscaping gets refreshed.
But the aluminium windows are often left untouched, even though they’re one of the most visible features of the home.
That gap — between a renovated home and outdated aluminium — is where most of our work sits.

What We’ve Learned From On-Site Work This Year
No matter how many years you’ve been doing this, each year still teaches you things.
1. Preparation Matters More Than Ever
This isn’t new, but it’s been reinforced again and again.
Jobs where:
cleaning was thorough
sanding was even
masking was tight
taping was disciplined
produced results that held up perfectly and looked factory-finished.
Shortcuts never paid off — and we don’t take them.
2. Tape Removal Tells the Whole Story
We’ve shared more tape-removal footage this year than ever before, and for good reason.
Tape removal shows:
whether the rubbers were protected
whether the glass edge was clean
whether paint was controlled
whether the masking was correct
It’s the moment everything is revealed.
Customers understand the quality instantly when they see it.
3. Colour Choice Is Personal — But Patterns Exist
While every homeowner has individual taste, the pattern is clear:
The vast majority of aluminium repainting falls into:
white
black
With smaller numbers choosing:
Monument
Surfmist
Ironstone
We’ve also learned that colour choice is rarely about trends. It’s usually about:
blending with interiors
reducing visual clutter
hiding the frame against the glass
matching shutters, blinds, or curtains
simplifying the look of the home
This insight will guide future content and guidance we provide.

Why We Share So Much of the Process Online
We’re often asked why we show so much of what we do — cleaning, sanding, masking, priming, tack coats, tape removal.
The answer is simple.
Most people have never seen aluminium windows repainted properly.
They’ve seen:
brush marks
thick paint
overspray on glass
painted rubbers
flaking finishes
short-term results
By sharing the process, people can see:
why aluminium needs a system
why preparation takes time
why spraying is different to painting walls
why clean edges matter
why the result looks factory-made
This transparency builds trust and sets realistic expectations.

Our Focus Going Into the New Year
When we return from our break on 18 January, our focus will remain exactly where it should be: doing fewer things properly rather than many things quickly.
Residential Aluminium Window Repainting
This remains the core of our work.
We’ll continue focusing on:
full window frame recolouring
sliding doors
French and colonial-style windows
internal and external aluminium
detailed masking around rubbers
clean tape removal
Homes With Renovations Underway or Recently Completed
We expect a strong continuation of projects where:
the house has been repainted
the roof has been updated
extensions have been added
interiors have been refreshed
and the aluminium windows are the last element that doesn’t match.
Two-Storey and Difficult-Access Homes
We’ll continue taking on projects that require:
scaffolding
careful access planning
internal work at height
roof-level spraying
controlled overspray management
These jobs require experience, planning, and patience — and they suit our approach.
Select Commercial Projects
Where appropriate, we’ll continue to undertake commercial aluminium repainting where conditions allow correct curing and preparation. These jobs are assessed individually and planned properly.
—
What We Are Not Changing
There are some things we won’t compromise on in the new year.
We will continue to:
prioritise preparation
protect surrounding surfaces
mask rubbers properly
remove screens for spraying
use tack coats correctly
avoid rushing jobs
avoid unrealistic timelines
be honest about what’s involved
This consistency is what produces repeatable, reliable results.
—
Planning Ahead for the New Year
If you’re planning work for early in the year, it’s worth understanding how our schedule typically fills.
Many January and February projects come from:
renovations completed over Christmas
homes being prepared for sale
homeowners finally addressing outdated aluminium
people wanting work done before the heat peaks
Photos, locations, and details sent through during the break help us plan properly once we return.
—
A Note on Timing and Expectations
Aluminium window repainting is not a one-day job. It’s not something that can be rushed or squeezed in between other trades without affecting the result.
Each project is assessed on:
size
access
condition of frames
number of windows and doors
screens and hardware
storeys and layout
Being realistic about timeframes protects the finish and the homeowner.
—
Appreciation and Thanks
We want to thank everyone who:
followed our work
watched the videos
asked questions
trusted us with their homes
referred friends or family
took the time to understand the process
The support allows us to keep doing the work properly, without cutting corners.
—
Looking Ahead
When we return after 18 January, we’ll be back on site doing what we do best:
cleaning
sanding
masking
spraying
taping
removing tape
delivering clean, sharp, modern finishes
If aluminium windows are the one thing in your home that still doesn’t match everything else, that’s exactly the type of project we specialise in.
—
Final Word
This break is part of doing things properly — not stepping away from responsibility, but making sure we return focused and ready.
We hope everyone enjoys a safe Christmas period and a relaxed start to the new year.
We’ll see you again in January.
