1. Surface Preparation

Every successful coating starts with preparation. We thoroughly clean all aluminium surfaces to remove contaminants, old waxes, or airborne grime. This includes hand scrubbing and degreasing to ensure proper adhesion of primers and topcoats.

2. Masking and Protection

Precision taping is one of the most important parts of our process. We mask off all adjacent glass, signage, rubber seals, and surrounding building materials. This ensures no overspray and a clean, professional result around every edge and corner.

3. Priming the Aluminium

We apply a dedicated adhesion primer formulated for use on aluminium and previously powder-coated surfaces. This primer promotes superior bonding and ensures longevity of the finish, even in high-traffic commercial areas.

4. Spraying with Commercial-Grade 2PAC Finishes

For shopfronts, we exclusively use 2-pack polyurethane (2PAC) coatings. These are premium, hard-wearing commercial finishes that offer excellent resistance to UV, chemicals, and abrasion — ideal for busy public-facing buildings. Our airless spray application provides a smooth, even coat with no brush marks or roller lines.

5. Two Finish Coats

We apply two full coats of the selected finish colour for depth, coverage, and long-term durability. We work in a range of finishes — from matte to gloss — and can colour match all major brands, including Dulux, Haymes, and Resene.
